Parker Jenkins

Actor | Director | Writer | Lighting Designer

Bridging theatre and science, one stage and screen at a time.

Stories are what bring us together; they allow us to speak about our dreams, fears, hopes, relationships, and the lives we aspire to lead one day. They connect us all, in one way or another. They’ve carried humanity from our earliest points of evolution around campfires to modern-day dinner tables and beyond. They’re what I want to tell onstage, what I want to write, what I want to direct, what I want to read.

With my backgrounds in chemical neuroscience and psychology, as well as my experiences in performance art, lighting design, and theatrical writing, I find excitement blending my experiences in neuropsychology, art, and science into theatre that encapsulates and highlights the emotions—the stories—that make us human: put centerstage for all to see.

The Highlights

“Jenkins brings a perfect blend of vulnerability and determination to Chad, grounding the increasingly absurd proceedings with genuine human emotion. His chemistry with Ian Brady’s exuberant boyfriend Todd provides the production’s emotional anchor.” - Opening Night Reviews

With his lithe physicality, melodious voice and animated presence, Parker Jenkins is captivating as the night nurse.” - Theatre Scene

“The existential crisis that Jenkins brought to the stage is way too familiar. We saw one of the best uses of flashbacks in a short play. We urge Jenkins to keep up the good practice of using deafening silences. The gaps of not speaking become lines all to themselves.” - Young-Howze Theatre Journal
